Be the Underdog #8 – God's not Limited by What you Do or Don't Have

In chapter 8 of my new book, God of the Underdogs, (due out September 10th!!!) I talk about Gideon as an underdog leader who was not limited by what he did or didn’t have. Gideon had a mindset that positioned him to be used by God in a great way! The same thing must be true of us.

Three Thoughts on Leading Well for every Underdog Leader:

1. Leading is about Making a Path, not just following one.

By definition, a leader is one who leads. That means that often times there won’t be a path to where you and I are called to go and take others to. In fact, the greatest leaders are the ones known for blazing a new trail, doing what’s never been done before and leading people to a destination not found on any previous map. Don’t ever forget that! What you’re doing is leading. You’re not following a map, you’re making one.

2. Don’t mistake pain for a lack of God’s blessing.

When you blaze a new trail, pain is part of the process. There are bound to be things that hurt and sting and slap you in the face alone the way. The best leaders don’t let that stop them. Nor do they accuse God of hating them or hurting them. They take it on the chin, keep moving and accomplish great things.

Your future success is directly linked to the amount of pain you’re willing to endure on the path there.

3. Know that God is with you.

When you’re charging the hill and being obedient to do what you feel God has called you to do, when you feel like the odds are against you, underdog leader, never forget that God is with you. He is well pleased with your obedience. You’re playing at a whole new level simply by boldly obeying and stretching and trusting. By not giving up!

Don’t give up!!! We need you!

God’s not limited by what you do or don’t have. In fact, when you feel like the odds are stacked against you the most, that’s when God loves to show off how great He is! Walk in that confidence today!!!
