Walking Closer to the "Risk/Reward" Line

We can’t get where God wants us to go unless we are willing to walk closer to the Risk / Reward line than we ever have before. And therein lines the danger right?
Even right now, that makes some of us want to get sick just thinking about it.

Here are 3 Questions to give you courage to walk there in this next season.

1. In what area do I need to go closer?

It’s probably not every area of your life. And certainly not every area all at the same time. That’s called rehab. I am talking about seeking God about where and when He wants you to trust Him to guide you closer to the Risk / Reward line.

2. Where am I choosing to focus my eyes?

On what I stand to lose, or what I stand to gain? In John Maxwell’s book, 15 Laws of Personal Growth, he says, “We always seem to fix our eyes on what we stand to lose, long before we see what we stand to Gain.” We can’t do that. We have to keep our eyes on what we stand to gain.

3. Am I being wreckless?

Nothing great ever happened by playing it safe. Nothing. Few things ever happened by being wreckless either. But everything great became possible when average people just like you and me dared to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and walk closer to the Risk / Reward line than ever before.

3 Realities of the Risk / Reward Line:

1. It’s not a cliff.

Your mind wants you to think it is to create fear in you. You might fall, but you won’t die. Don’t believe that.

2. It’s a path.

A path chosen by a lot of people just like you everyday. Yes, it takes courage to have the conversation, make the different choice, choose health, wake up early, make the phone call, press send. But remember, you stand to gain so much more than you potentially stand to lose.

3. It takes one act of courage to start.

So many people avoid the Risk / Reward line because they can’t muster the courage to take like 1000 steps or even 100 steps. But you don’t have to. All you have to do is take 1 simple step of courage. Then tomorrow wake up and take another one. You’ll be amazed at what happens. Maybe not even in the external, but inside you. You’ll discover a courage you never knew was possible.

There’s a Risk/Reward line, come in, go take a step toward it, then watch what happens.
